@Alfera the Northwind invoice bounced again. can you find out why?
Slack
Message it in a channel, a thread or a DM. It does the job, then answers in the thread you used.

AlferaAPP9:12
Their card expired on 2 Aug. I've sent AP a new payment link and put a reminder in here for Friday.

amazing, thank you

Ask in the channel. The answer opens a thread, so the channel stays readable.
It reads the thread before it answers. The second question does not need the first one again.

@Alfera where's the deploy checklist?
AlferaAPP11:06
Notion → Engineering → Release. Marco signed the last one off on Tuesday.
Sam11:08
and who covers it when he's out?
AlferaAPP11:08
You do. Same page, under Cover. Priya is second.

@Alfera refund Kelly Brennan's order, she's been waiting a week
AlferaAPP16:31
Order #10482, £126.40, card ending 4417. A refund can't be reversed, so I'll wait. Say go and I'll do it.

Refunded £126.40. Kelly has the confirmation.

Some work should not happen without you. It says what it is about to do, and waits.
It asks in the thread, where the person who asked is already looking. Nothing runs until somebody answers.
Put a job on a schedule and name the channel. It runs overnight and posts what it found.
Nobody has to remember to ask. The post lands where the next question gets asked.

Yesterday, from Stripe and HubSpot.
One to look at: Northwind hasn't logged in for 11 days, and renews on the 30th.

@Alfera book me 20 minutes with Northwind this week
It reads nothing until somebody adds it. It reads only the channels you turn on.
Type /invite @Alfera, or @mention it and Slack offers to add it.
Somebody already in it adds it. Nobody outside the channel sees a word.
Message it like a person. That thread is yours and nobody else reads it.
Pull it into a DM with a few people. It reads that one conversation.
Turn one off and it stops reading it. It never had the rest.
Connect Slack, pick a channel, and give it something to do. Take it out again in one click.
